Spring Break Trip

In April of 2016, we took our three children to Jamaica for Spring Break. We planned this trip to be Teacher Appreciation Day. We brought with us over 20 reusable gift bags packed full. We filled the bags with an assortment of much needed teaching supplies that would have otherwise been purchased by the teachers themselves.

To make this visit more memorable, we didn’t tell them we were coming. It was a complete surprise! Many actually came to tears that we would go out of our way for the teachers. What a day this was for all of us! We left it to our children to deliver the gifts to each teacher. There was an amazing transformation you could in each of their faces as they made their way from class to class. As we were leaving, they each looked at us and said that this was the coolest thing they have ever done!

Our next trip will hopefully be to redo the kitchen down there. How the cook (Steve) can create meals for so many using what he has is beyond me. He needs some help! We cross our fingers and press on…
